‘London by the sea’, as Brighton is often referred to, became very fashionable during the 18th century, when prominent doctors suggested that drinking and bathing in seawater is good for health and curing illnesses. Additionally, when the Prince Regent spent more time in Brighton, he started the construction of the well-known Royal Pavilion, one of Brighton’s iconic landmarks. Today, Brighton is a place for the creative and those who like to think outside the box. Therefore, it definitely should be on your list of day trips, when you visit London.
